Would you forget, me?

“Preserve a dead butterfly to keep it bright and beautiful forever.” — sciencing.com

Raised on the craft of origami books and matured through the sport of running, I used to think that these passions of mine would continue forever. In recent years I’ve grappled with the realization that this was not the case. Growing up and gradually growing out of simpler pleasures, how do I preserve the memories I now yearn for the most?

Would you forget, me? is a dialogue between past and present self, a question posed from a younger me unable to imagine letting go, to the current me, unable to fully indulge in the same happiness as before. The imagery used is a chronological collection of scenery and sentiment from my favorite memories of running, supplemented by a scattered documentation of my transition from previous joys to the discovery of newer ones.
