A Disparate Offering

Philip Venkov

“A Disparate Offering” is a zine comprised of a variety of different artworks and writings collected and compiled over about 6 months. Originally intended simply as a cheeky grab bag of varying elements, it eventually progressed to be a surprisingly more cathartic work focusing on dealing with emotional turmoil and trauma. Cohesive in its lack of cohesion, its 34 pages are full of collected images that were taken over the course of over a year, eventually finding their way into the pages, filling out some of the spreads alongside older artwork that hadn’t found a home. Including works utilizing collage, digital collage, pencil drawings, painting and more, it is a rather multimedia affair, all processed through the grainy lens of an aging photocopier.
