AINSLEIGH

PYSCHO-AUTOMATA

This piece explores what it takes to be cognizant by presenting a cognitive puzzle that a human will decode in conjunction with a machine. Stimulus and response form a recursive loop, patterns of code writing output voltages triggering the release of photons from a diode, photons detected, inducing voltages read in the receiving patterns of code, the reading interpreted to action through modulated signals controlling actuators.  Rotation translated to the reciprocating swing of an arc through linkages – the mechanical throw of a switch the analog to the flipping of a bit- the diode goes dark and the loops repeat…

AINSLEIGH DOUGLAS

Ainsleigh Douglas is a multimedia designer and artist who focuses on biases and malleability of the human mind. She finds the digital can’t be explained without representation in the physical. With a large interest in the intersection between art and science, physical and digital, and she explores those boundaries through experimental mediums. Her goal is to illustrate indescribable feelings through the ins and outs of interactive installations and architecture fusion. Currently she is exploring the possibilities of software and hardware, with a passion in arduino and AI.
