Drowning
At home, my grandparents would discuss the various types of patients and illnesses due to their occupations. They would often discuss two types of patients. One that is reliant on medication and the other that is resistant. While searching for inspiration, I came across the Japanese artist Tanaka Tatsuya. I was drawn by the way he inserted creativity into photography. I then started experimenting with the installation setting and camera.

The depiction of miniature scenes and figures trapped in capsules correspond with my childlike perception of our over-reliance on medications. The fluorescent colors represent the patients’ turbulent state physically and mentally as they struggle between resistance and reliance.
